Dia De Los Muertos

Year five had such a wonderful day experiencing the cultural festival of ‘Dia de los Muertos’  from Mexico, which translates as ‘Day of the Dead’. They learnt about all the traditions of the festival and how the Mexican culture use this festival as a celebration of those that have passed.

As part of the celebration year 5 cooked traditional food for the festival including: Pan de Muertos (bread of the dead), Tajin de fruta (Chilli lime fruit) Pepitas (Roasted pumpkin seeds) and Mayan hot chocolate.
