Your SPAG lesson today will be about writing formally and informally.

SPAG - Formal and Informal

The teacher on the video explains the meaning of formal and informal, but here are a couple of definitions to help you:

FORMAL - This type of writing using correct standard English. Full sentences are always used and slang is never used.
INFORMAL - This writing involves more of a chatty style. Contractions and the occasional slang word might be used.

Today we will be looking at converting between different units of time. It is really useful to know these facts:
60 minutes = 1 hour
24 hours = 1 day
365 days = 1 year (a leap year has 366 days)

Art Challenge - Monday 13th July

Hi year 5,

For our final our challenge before the Summer holidays we are going to look at pop art. Pop art is an artistic style from the 1950s which combined images from (pop)ular culture with bright colours. Here are some examples of pop art:






Your challenge is to create either:
1. A picture or an internet meme or acronym like this:

Examples include LOL, OMG, BRB, CU L8R, ROFL (No rude ones though!)
