Science Challenge - Forces 3

Good morning year 5,

I hope you are well. We will be continuing to look at Forces this week. Last time we looked at the force that pulls everything to the center of the earth - GRAVITY.

Today we will look at a force that can slow moving objects down when two surfaces come into contact with each other. This force is called FRICTION. Here are some videos to remind you about this concept:




Task:

Your task is to draw and write about 3 examples of where friction might occur in everyday life. Here my example:


If you are stuck for ideas you could sketch any of the following:

A car's tyres
A ball rolling along the ground
A child going down a slide
